Where to Find Career Guidance

by Gary Anderson, former college Career Center Director and high school career choice advisor

Many young people feel frustrated when looking for where they can find career guidance.

Career Guidance is Available to Anyone - Just Ask!

There is no secret on where a student can find some career guidance. Professors, other students and friends, professionals in the field or fields that you are interested in and even your parents can help you answer questions you may have about your future career.

However, one of the most valuable tools available today are online career interest inventories, such as the Career Liftoff Online Interest Inventory. These tools are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Online Career Assessments

Visit your college's career center and see if they provide online or other types of career guidance tests. These tools often help you focus your own personal interests and lead you down the path of self-directed career guidance. If your university's career center does not have a career assessment available, you can take the Career Liftoff Online Interest Inventory for only $19.95. This online interest inventory will take around 1 hour to complete, and is available for you anytime via the Internet.
